brazilian

in this dream
i call you in nepal
from california.

in my dream california
shops
rise in tiers,
cedarwood shanties
tilting artfully.
artificial everywhere.
i call you
to stay my sanity
but
i had forgotten nepal
and your journey
through the monasteries.
i call
and drop the phone
pick up to hear
HELLO
and then
a soft reassurance
to someone beside you.
embarrassed,
i apologise and hang up.

the phone begins to blink.

a single lit word.

in blue.

"brazilian"

Bosporus

from the window I cannot see
you tell of the river running through the city
and here?
pixilated
a
square moon

reminds me of voices
and interesting books

of a rose colored spider's skin
red eyes
worms
a soft
white rabbit

tell me why
some are asleep while
others
are awake

under a square moon
a river
