world

ghost of chickadee
in tree
dead squirrel's tail
a thin line of bone
stones
found in ground
a tiger's eye or
clay ear of wolf
here
cold
an old
river
trout
among corn rows
this
month's
north reality

birch trees under water
are
broken
old  uncles
their souls
teach us
suffering and grace

see?

we alone will never be enough
for this world
